UK,s Largest Free online auction community is launching in the USA
In line with its phenomenal growth in the UK, eBid.co.uk, the UK's second largest online auction site is bringing its format of zero fee auctions to the US market with the launch of the first of seven new sites that will give eBid a global presence throughout the next 2 years via their new branding of eBid.tv .
As well as the already established UK market and the launch of the US site, eBid will create online presences in France, Spain, Italy, Germany, Canada and Australia.
eBid,s recipe is simple, FREE listings and ZERO final value fees attracts sellers away from the traditional "pay-to-sell" auction sites into a fresher no-cost alternative. New members find that items are much cheaper on eBid than other auction sites - mainly due to sellers having no fees or overheads to cover - and therefore many bidding members pick up great bargains on all sorts of goods, from antiques to clothing, DVDs to collectables, digital cameras to wholesale goods.
The US market was chosen because of its familiarity with the concept of online auctions. US members will be introduced to UK members and will be able to trade with UK members as well as fellow US members in the currency of their choice. eBid,s online payment partners PPPay.com will make US dollar to Sterling and Sterling to US dollar payments swift, secure and safe with PPPay instant and their renowned PPPay escrow payment system.
Gary Sewell, Managing Director of eBid explains. "We make a clear distinction between eBid and other US auction sites that charge listing fees and after sale fees. As in the UK, once regular auctioneers know we are free word gets around and they started to tell their friends and other auctioneers and buyers they knew from before."
Background on eBid
Founded in March 1999, As online auction houses are one of the few 'pure' Internet applications - i.e. the business model cannot be replicated offline - eBid is well-placed for longevity. Revenues are generated via optional featured extras. eBid is distinct from competitors due to its free listings and no final sale fees, extensive security features and loyal, highly active online auction community.
